This policy forms part of the terms of service at https://dropable.io/terms and is versioned with them. It applies to you, to every member of your workspace, and to the clients and recipients you grant access to.
Dropable stores and delivers files on your behalf. We do not review what you upload, which is why the boundaries below matter and why the reporting route exists.
1. Who is responsible
You are responsible for all content stored and shared through your workspace, and for the conduct of the members, clients and recipients you grant access to.
We do not monitor content proactively and are under no obligation to do so. We act on reports and on indications that reach us.
2. Prohibited content
You may not store, share or deliver content through the service that:
- is unlawful under German or applicable European law
- infringes third-party copyright, trademark, design or other intellectual property rights
- depicts the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors
- incites hatred or violence, glorifies violence, or denies or trivialises crimes against humanity
- constitutes an insult, defamation or a violation of personal rights
- discloses personal data of third parties without a lawful basis for doing so
- contains malware, exploits or other code intended to cause harm
- is used for phishing, fraud or the impersonation of another person or organisation
3. Prohibited conduct
Regardless of the content involved, you may not:
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent access controls, plan limits or usage measurement
- use the service as a general file host, content delivery network or backup target unrelated to media collaboration
- resell or sublicense access to the service outside the arrangements permitted by the terms
- carry out automated access at a scale or frequency that impairs the service for others
- probe, scan or test the security of the service without our prior written consent
- use the service to send unsolicited advertising, or to distribute share links at large scale to recipients who did not request them
5. Security research
We welcome reports of security vulnerabilities. Send them to legal@dropable.io with enough detail for us to reproduce the issue.
Please test only against workspaces and data you own, do not access, modify or exfiltrate data belonging to others, and give us reasonable opportunity to respond before publishing. Research conducted on those terms will not be treated as a violation of this policy.
6. Reporting unlawful content
If you become aware of content on Dropable that you believe is unlawful or infringes your rights, report it to legal@dropable.io.
A report should identify the content as precisely as possible, ideally by the link through which you encountered it, explain why you consider it unlawful, state the right you are asserting where the report concerns an infringement, and give us a way to reach you.
We confirm receipt, assess the report, and where the content is unlawful we remove or block access to it without undue delay. We inform the customer concerned of the measure and its grounds, unless a legal obligation prevents us from doing so.
Where a customer contests a measure, they may object to us at the same address. We reconsider the decision and inform both sides of the outcome.
7. What happens on a violation
We choose the mildest measure that is effective, and escalate only where necessary.
- Notice
- We inform you of the violation and give you the opportunity to remedy it.
- Removal or blocking
- We remove or block access to the specific content concerned.
- Restriction
- We restrict specific functions of the workspace, for example new uploads or share link creation.
- Suspension
- We suspend the workspace. Content remains stored and is not deleted by the suspension.
- Termination
- We terminate the agreement for good cause. This applies to severe or repeated violations.
Where a violation is manifestly unlawful or presents an immediate risk, we may act at once without prior notice. We inform you of the measure afterwards.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy is versioned with the terms of service. A change that imposes new obligations on you is announced and accepted in the same way as a change to those terms.
